It's been a while since I've posted, but I wanted to publish a piece that had been rattling around in my WIP's for some time. In the mood to render some more realistic scenes, I came across this wonderful kitchen by Heidi-caillier-design and immediatley wanted to sink my teeth into it. The project kept being picked up and put back down in the midst of life and work, but I'm happy to have it finally completed.
All renders (Apart from photographic references) taken in Unreal, with very slight color/contrast correction done in Photoshop. All models, textures (Apart from fruit wallpaper) made by me in Maya/Zbrush/Substance Painter/Designer. Vase flowers were sourced from Quixel bridge.
One particularly fun challenge was hunting down the textures for the wallpaper and the the rug. While I was able to source the exact pattern for the wallpaper, there was no such luck for the rug. Instead, I had to create the pattern myself in Photoshop, but I think it came out looking pretty close!
Likewise, playing around with the lighting for this scene was very informative - my renders ended up more intense than the reference, but I felt a sun drenched kitchen was a bit more visually appealing.
